Cacti

Being a Texan means you encounter one of our native species, cactus, and hopefully you appreciate them, as I do. I've nurtured my cacti and succulents for years and have been inspired to create prickly surfaces, including an early exhibition titled, "Spiked". The spikes in my work have become a metaphor for keeping people at a distance stemming from being a more introverted and sensitive artist. This work led to me being featured on the nationally televised HGTV (Home & Garden Television) channel "That's Clever" Season 2.
